Wonderfully Dense (2 ingredient!) Chocolatey Brownies

The secret ingredient? Black Beans. (cue evil laugh)

But seriously. These black bean brownies are downright delicious, dense, chocolatey, and chewy. And it comes packed with some extra fiber and protein!!! You’ll be able to fool your kids with these, guaranteed. I was even able to fool my three-year-old brother.

Oh wait! Even better! I was able to fool my GRANDMA. Yup, my grandma, with her traditional cooking and nostalgic heirloom recipes. Now that’s what I call some serious business.

And the best part is, all you need are two ingredients. So it’s super simple to whip up. The black beans take the place of the water, eggs, and oil in a brownie batter. And I think that the beans’ texture are the key to making brownies that melt in your mouth.

Black Bean Brownies

Serves 16

  • dark chocolate brownie mix
  • a 15-16 oz. can of black beans
  1. Open the can of black beans and rinse the beans and the inside of the can. Put the beans back in the clean can and fill to the top with water.
  2. Puree the water and black beans until smooth.

  3. Mix with packaged brownie mix. Cook according to box.
